A new market will be held in Ely every Sunday.
East Cambridgeshire District Council is launching a new weekly Sunday market in the city on Sunday, April 5, together with a Bank Holiday Market on Monday, April 6.
A council spokeswoman said: “The new weekly Sunday market brings the best of our flower, food and craft market plus a great mix of stalls and family entertainment. We hope the new market will attract additional footfall to the town centre on a Sunday.”
They also say it is hoped numerous shops in the city may also start to open on a Sunday to take advantage of the extra footfall.
