
Situated to the North east of the Cathedral on Ely’s High Street. It is approached from the East End of the Cathedral or from the High Street.
As its name suggests, it was formerly the house of the monastic almoner who dispensed alms to the poor
The Almonry Restaurant is located within the medieval buildings just a short walk from the Cathedral.
Hospitality has been offered here since medieval times.
Today the tradition is continued at this thriving restaurant, where food of the highest quality is served, using fresh local produce.
The restaurant is situated in The Almonry’s 12th Century vaulted undercroft. An ideal venue for Meetings, Seminars, Wedding Receptions or any other event where hospitality is important. Smaller groups may prefer the privacy and elegance of the Blue Room.
The Almonry gardens provide an excellent enclosed area for an outdoor event. There is plenty of space to erect a marquee which can be used for dinners and receptions.
